Ashley Dunbar-Baker is a passionate and experienced trial attorney and New Jersey native. Mrs. Baker received her Bachelor's degree from Villanova University and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida. While in law school, Ashley competed on the Black Law Students Association International Negotiation Team and the University of Florida Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. She also served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy, presided as the Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, and served as the Community Service Chair for the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and for the Caribbean Law Students Association.
Mrs. Baker began her legal career as a Public Defender in the 9th Circuit where she tried over 25 cases ranging from juvenile matters to felonies punishable by life. She collaborated on several successful appeals and reached countless satisfactory settlements through effective negotiation and motion practice. After her time at the Office of the Public Defender, Mrs. Baker then gained substantial experience in civil litigation as an associate at McDonald Toole Wiggins where she represented Fortune 500 companies in complex civil lawsuits. Mrs. Baker then served as in-house counsel for Progressive Insurance where she gained substantial insight on litigating motor vehicle accidents from the defense side. She then returned to criminal defense as a private defense attorney with Smith and Eulo, where she successfully defended hundreds of clients, including securing a not guilty verdict as co-counsel on an attempted murder trial in Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition to her legal career, Ashley dedicates substantial time to helping the community directly. She has served on the Community Outreach Committee for the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, and serves on the Justice Advisory Committee under Congressman Soto to collaborate on reviewing legislature such as the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 and other policy issues with fellow community leaders in Florida. In 2024, she was honored as a Distinguished Leader in Central Florida for Black History Month.
Mrs. Baker co-founded the firm with a mission to provide exceptional legal representation and steadfast advocacy for her community. Her extensive experience in criminal trials and civil litigation enables her to navigate complex legal matters with confidence. Known for her bold presence in the courtroom and compassionate approach towards her clients, she is committed to protecting her clients' rights while guiding them through every stage of their case with care and dedication.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys fitness, competing in bodybuilding competitions, traveling, and good food.
